reverb plugin

dhreVerb

dhreVerb is the reverb that comes from the same approach I bring to my productions: dense, modulated spaces made to stay in the mix without covering the vocal.

VERSION 1.2.1

current

Redesigned Attack, Bloom and Swell: the tail that is already ringing no longer dips when a new hit arrives, so there is no pumping with rhythmic material.

technical details

  • Windows 10 or later · x64 · VST3.
  • Before, each hit lowered the previous tail by 6 to 11 dB (up to 13 dB with Swell or Bloom). Now these controls shape only the sound going into the reverb and the previous tail does not change.
  • They work the same with material at any level; before, they did not engage below about −38 dBFS.
  • Attack delays the arrival of the reverb (the value in ms is the average delay), Swell concentrates it towards the end for a pre-verb effect and Bloom keeps the attack and opens the tail afterwards.
  • Bloom no longer shortens the tail or interferes with Freeze, and none of the three colours the sound.
  • Smooth automation: small changes glide like Size and preset changes come in with a 30 ms fade.
  • Keeps the parameters and presets of 1.2.0. With Attack, Bloom and Swell at zero it sounds identical; presets that use them sound different.
  • Automated audio tests at 44.1, 48, 96 and 192 kHz, including one that checks that a new hit does not change the existing tail.

Windows · stable

VERSION 1.2.0

A clearer, more consistent reverb tail, an output monitor on the Envelope screen and support for mono tracks with stereo output, plus interface fixes.

technical details

  • Windows 10 or later · x64 · VST3.
  • Brighter, more stable tail: the reverb no longer gets too dark depending on room size or sample rate, especially at 44.1 and 48 kHz.
  • Cleaner Pre-Delay: its value no longer filters the input signal.
  • Output monitor in Envelope: L/R meter with level, peak, hold and clip lamp.
  • Stereo correlation indicator, pink when the image may lose strength in mono, and a trace that glows with the real level of the tail.
  • Mono tracks with stereo output, as well as mono and stereo.
  • Turning bypass on and off no longer brings back the previous tail.
  • Dropdown menus with clean corners; the version information opens only when you click «dhreVerb».
  • Keeps the parameters and presets of 1.1.1. Presets load the same, but the tail sounds slightly brighter.
  • Automated audio tests at 44.1, 48, 96 and 192 kHz, and loading of the VST3 in an independent host.
